Record participation at fifth Ocean Racing Series
The fifth annual Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series got off to a spectacular season start when a record number of entrants and more than 1000 spectators converged on Hobie Beach on the weekend to do battle in the four events on offer.
Optimism for Ocean Racing Series unprecedented
Participation in the second leg of the fifth Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series drew record participation on Sunday when more than 630 entrants competed in one of the three disciplines in blustery, overcast conditions on Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth.

Marinus Johnson kicked sand in the eyes of his rivals last weekend at Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth, to remain unbeaten in the third Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series Beach Front Lodges 5km beach run.

Hobie Beach will once again provide the perfect venue for the fourth leg of the Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series taking place this Sunday. Close on 600 athletes took part in near perfect weather conditions with three disciplines on offer, when the third leg of this popular lifestyle event took place on November 1.
Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series set to be biggest ever
The current Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series continues to draw hundreds of athletes from the Eastern Cape as well as other parts of the country on race days taking place on alternate Sundays at Hobie Beach in Port Elizabeth.
History in the making at Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series
History will be in the making when record numbers of entrants are expected to take part in the fifth leg of the fifth annual Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series taking place at Hobie Beach this Sunday.
Series organizer, Michael Zoetmulder from Zports in Port Elizabeth, says after only the fourth leg of the current series – with eight more legs to go – they have almost had as many entrants as in the whole of the previous season.
Ocean Racing Series goes green
Sunday sees the sixth race of the evergreen and extremely popular Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series and in celebration of this family lifestyle event’s halfway mark, Hobie Beach will be treated to a clean-up before opening of the season.
Please bring any old blankets or newspapers for the penguins of Bayworld. These items will be collected on race days and handed over to Bayworld at the end of the series.
Family lifestyle event grows in leaps and bounds
Hundreds of athletes of all ages are expected to take part in the eighth leg of the fifth annual Axxess DSL Ocean Racing Series on Hobie Beach this Sunday.
According to race organiser, Michael Zoetmulder from Zports in Port Elizabeth, participation in this edition of the popular family lifestyle Sporting event is exceeding all expectations.
